Dhafer A. Al-Shehri

Dhafer A. Al-Shehri is the chairman of the petroleum engineering department and an associate professor at the CPG, KFUPM in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia. With over 3 decades of experience, he has worked in the oil and gas industry and academia. During his 18-year tenure at Saudi Aramco, he held key technical and management roles in upstream operations, engineering, and field development. Al-Shehri is an active member of SPE and has contributed to numerous technical committees and authored over 100 papers in peer-reviewed journals and conferences. He holds degrees from KFUPM, Texas A&M University, and an EMBA from KFUPM. In 2019, he received the SPE Distinguished Membership Award and has held various advisory and board positions in the field.
