Mostafa Afifi

Mostafa Afifi is a petroleum engineering manager for Schlumberger Kuwait. He has experience in integrated field development, asset evaluation, well testing, reservoir characterization, petrophysical evaluation, dynamic reservoir simulation, and petroleum economics. Afifi has more than 18 years of experience in both reservoir and petroleum engineering demonstrated across different countries and regions including the Middle East, Asia, Australia, and Mexico. He has performed several reservoir simulation studies for conventional reservoirs (single porosity, dual porosity/permeability, multi-porosity) and unconventional reservoirs (coalbed methane, shale gas). Afifi holds a BSc in petroleum engineering from Cairo University.

  • Pore-to-process simulation concept refers to coupling all production system elements such as reservoir(s), wells, pipeline network, and facilities. Pore-to-process simulation will enable several what-if scenarios evaluation, identify production bottlenecks, and optimize asset oil- and water-production rates.
