Shirish Patil

Shirish Patil, a Saudi Aramco chair professor and assistant chairman at the petroleum engineering department of the CPG, KFUPM in Dhahran, Saudi Arabia, previously spent 30 years at the University of Alaska Fairbanks, where he served as a petroleum engineering professor and director of the Petroleum Development Laboratory. His accolades include the 2012 SPE Distinguished Member and the 2014 Western North America Regional Distinguished Achievement Award for Petroleum Engineering Faculty. Patil received prestigious awards from the University of Alaska Fairbanks such as the 2010 Distinguished Alumnus Award in 2010 and the 2007 Emil Usibelli Distinguished Service Award. In 2020, he was granted the titles of Professor Emeritus of Petroleum Engineering and Director Emeritus of Petroleum Development Laboratory by the University of Alaska Fairbanks. Currently, he holds the position of a commissioner at the Engineering Technology Accreditation Commission (ETAC) for the Accreditation Board for Engineering and Technology International (ABET Inc.).
