
Uzoma Johnpaul Ajugwe
PhD Student The University of Texas at AustinUzoma Johnpaul Ajugwe is a PhD student in petroleum and geosystems engineering at the University of Texas at Austin. He holds a master’s degree in environmental engineering from the University of South Florida, where his research focused on carbon sequestration into the Floridian subsurface. He investigated the effects of wellbore pressure during CO2 injection in saline aquifers using modeling. Ajugwe is passionate about leveraging scientific research to support the transition to cleaner energy systems while addressing legacy challenges of fossil fuel use. He is an active member of SPE and the American Geophysical Union (AGU). He also previously served as the treasurer of the American Water Works Association (AWWA) student chapter at USF. Ajugwe holds a bachelor's degree in petroleum engineering from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Nigeria. In his free time, he enjoys chess, golf, volunteering, and supporting Manchester United.
