Uzoma Johnpaul Ajugwe

Uzoma Johnpaul Ajugwe is a graduate student in environmental engineering at the University of South Florida, where his research focuses on carbon sequestration into the Floridian subsurface. He investigates the effects of wellbore pressure during CO2 injection in saline aquifers using modeling. Ajugwe is passionate about leveraging scientific research to support the transition to cleaner energy systems while addressing legacy challenges of fossil fuel use. He is an active member of the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE) and previously served as the treasurer of the American Water Works Association (AWWA) student chapter at USF. Ajugwe holds a bachelor's degree in petroleum engineering from the Federal University of Technology, Owerri, Nigeria. In his free time, he enjoys chess, golf, afrobeats, and volunteering.
