Victor Mugambe

Student Liaison Officer SPE Uganda Section

Victor Mugambe is a rising energy leader driving innovation and sustainability across oil, gas, and renewables in Africa. He has represented Uganda at global platforms such as the International Petroleum Technology Conference (IPTC) Education Week in Saudi Arabia, where he received the Rising Star Award and ATCE.

As a student, he was the captain of Mbarara University’s PetroBowl team, leading them to national victory and representing his country at both the African and international stages. Now serving as the SPE Student Liaison Officer for the Uganda Section, he is mentoring the next generation of energy professionals in Uganda and Africa.

Beyond petroleum, he is the founder of Eden, a startup producing biodegradable plastics using local agricultural waste. He is also a fellow of the Bevisioneers Mercedes-Benz Fellowship, and dreams of building AI-integrated manufacturing, clean energy systems, and sustainable industries across Africa.

He holds a degree in petroleum engineering from Mbarara University of Science and Technology.
