The North China YP program organized its first geological field trip to an outcrop in Luan Ping, which is 160 km from Beijing. The outcrop is a typical representation of a continental delta, which is extremely comparable with the Bohai oil field. The event attracted 48 YPs, SPE Student Chapter representatives, and tutors from the geosciences and petroleum disciplines. This event was the first activity organized by the committee and the kickoff of the YP program. Following the Luan Ping field trip, the committee received constructive feedback from participants and also had some new volunteers join the YP committee. It was an educational and fun-filled event.
