As laptops become smaller and more ubiquitous, the old-fashioned way of taking notes by hand still has advantages.

Technology is everywhere. With people often carrying a laptop, cell phone, and tablet, it may seem antiquated to pull out a paper and pen to capture your notes (and doodles). But science appears to prove that persons who selectively write down notes (since you are more likely to type faster than you can write) select the essence of the material to note down instead of trying to write down verbatim what is being shared.
