SPE Flow Assurance Technical Section Accepting Applications for “Outstanding Graduate Student Award in Honor of Jefferson Creek”

The SPE Flow Assurance Technical Section (SPE FTS) is awarding up to three Outstanding Graduate Student Awards ($500 each with award certificate) for graduate students pursuing research in flow-assurance-related areas.

The award is given in honor of flow assurance expert and a founder of the SPE FTS Jefferson Creek.

Applicants are required to submit a short application package, outlined below, electronically to the SPE FTS Administrative Chair Luis Zerpa Acosta atlzerpa@mines.edu by 30 June for evaluation by the SPE-FTS Awards Committee.

Eligibility Criteria

Must be an SPE member in good standing. (Membership for students is free through the SPE Student Dues Program sponsored by Chevron. Information can be found here: SPE Students and Student Chapters)

The application package should be submitted as a single PDF containing:

• 1 page résumé from graduate student.

• 1 recommendation letter (1 page) from graduate advisor.

• 1 page summary on the graduate student’s technical contribution that may have resulted in a conference presentation and/or a journal publication related to flow assurance, which may encompass topics related to state-of-the-art and future needs.
