Picture location: Took the photos at home, but the hard hat itself was made in Indonesia.
After finishing a 2-year project for Mark Producing in the Gulf of Mexico in 1986, the company man asked me if I wanted anything from Indonesia, which was where he was headed for the next job. I jokingly replied that I wanted one of those custom, handmade, metal hard hats that they make in the region. A year later, I received an unexpected call from that company man when he came to Houston. I received this hard hat as a surprise token of appreciation for a couple of years of really solid work. What a different oil field it was back then!
