Ten students from three universities in Australia were awarded 2022 Scholarships by the SPE Western Australia Section (SPE WA). They come from the University of Western Australia, Curtin University, and Edith Cowan University and were shortlisted for the award after submitting a 1-minute video describing why they believed the industry will still require petroleum/energy engineers until 2050 and beyond. Each of the awardees receives $2,000.
The judges of the program were Mike Dworkin, Nick Last, and Brian Twomey. Scholarship has been one of the important programs of the section to expand the pipeline of engineers considering a career in E&P, connecting students to the industry, and promoting the value of student membership in SPE.
The awardees are listed below:
The University of Western Australia: Augustine O’Neill, Clarice Antero, Rico Lee
Curtin University: Anastasia Tam, Jacques Kruger, Maria Paula Boutet, Matthew Colliss
Edith Cowan University: Dmitry Zakharov, Huy Henry Diep, Saba Gharcheh Daghi
