Tao Lin

Tao Lin has been with Aramco America’s Houston Research Center since 2020, where he is working as a data scientist in the AI technology group. He earned his PhD in physics from University of California at Riverside. Prior to his current role, he worked in CGG for High Performance Computing (HPC) and ML applications in seismic imaging, Advanced Micro Devices (AMD) for ML architecture optimization, and Amazon Web Services (AWS) for cloud computing and ML consultation in oil and gas industry. His recent research focus is on ML research and applications in oil and gas. He leads the research projects on integrating novel machine learning and digitalization technology into geoscience and oil and gas production, such as AI-based petrophysical properties characterization, production monitoring and optimization, as well as seismic imaging and sustainability.
