The Louisiana State University (LSU) Department of Petroleum Engineering is the recipient of a software donation from PE Ltd. (Petex) valued at more than $3.8 million. The UK-based software company has been involved in oil and gas field modeling since 1990.

This software will give students and faculty access to advanced, industry-standard software tools used by major oil companies, allowing them to work directly with powerful modeling technologies and build real-world, job-ready skills.

"Access to PE Limited's advanced software platforms will enhance our curriculum and give our students a competitive edge as they enter the workforce,” said LSU’s Petroleum Engineering Chair David Schechter, SPE.
