Registration Open: Colorado School of Mines Petroleum Engineering Super School

The 11-day, hybrid event will cover technical fundamentals and the basics of upstream operations.

Registration is open for Colorado School of Mines Petroleum Engineering Super School. The hybrid program will take place 6–17 July in Golden, Colorado. The immersive program is designed to provide the technical fundamentals and the basics of upstream operations. Attendees will participate in laboratory operations, two field trips (one geologic in nature and one to review field operations), and develop a cohort that will help in online modules.

Week One: In-Person at Mines Campus

  • Day 1: Course overview; petroleum engineering basics and general industry overview; sustainability & ESG
  • Day 2: Rock and fluid properties; stimulation
  • Day 3: Geologic concepts
  • Day 4: Drilling
  • Day 5: Engineering field trip
  • Day 6: Geology field trip

Week Two: In-Person at Mines Campus

  • Day 7: Logging
  • Day 8: Completions; rock and fluid properties
  • Day 9: Production engineering (nodal analysis and artificial lift)
  • Day 10: Reservoir engineering
  • Day 11: Reservoir engineering; economics

Online Study: 6, 3-hour modules

  • Exploration concepts (1 module)
  • Geomechanics (1 module)
  • Reservoir simulation (2 modules)
  • Surface facilities (1 module)
  • Petroleum data analytics (1 module)

Cost to attend is $8,300. Each full registration allows one additional attendee from the same company to register at half price.
