In this SPE Live session, industry experts discussed how hydrogen is now being applied in real-world projects, particularly within industry, shipping, and power generation. The conversation examined current deployments of hydrogen and ammonia and provided expectations for the state of the market by 2050, based on observable trends, evolving policies, and emerging market dynamics.

Panelists also discussed the urgent need to develop a skilled workforce—both by upskilling current professionals and preparing new talent—to support and scale low-carbon hydrogen technologies.

The session was moderated by Ibrahim Muritala, global hydrogen leader at ABS’s Global Sustainability Center, with panelists Magdy Mohamed, technical development manager at XRG, and Cullen Hall, vice president of product development at GenH2.
