UT Austin Opens Harrington Faculty Fellows Program to Energy Scholars

Early- and mid-career scholars are invited to apply for the 2026–2027 Harrington Faculty Fellows Program, which will focus on energy research.

The University of Texas at Austin is inviting early- and midcareer scholars to apply for the 2026–2027 Harrington Faculty Fellows Program, which will focus on energy research. Fellows receive a salary stipend, housing support, and $75,000 in discretionary research funds, with no teaching requirements during their yearlong residency.

The Harrington Faculty Fellows Program which began in 2001 was originally open to research in all areas. With the start of the 2026–2027 season, the program will now concentrate on a specific theme.

Based at UT’s Energy Institute, participants will join a community of more than 400 researchers working across disciplines to advance solutions in energy discovery, production, storage, technology, and policy.

Applications are open until 31 October 2025 to faculty within 10 years of their first tenure-track appointment from fields such as engineering, geology, chemistry, physics, biosciences, law, computer science, policy, and business.
