The University of North Dakota (UND) and Dickinson State University (DSU) are collaborating to expand engineering education in western North Dakota. This partnership allows DSU students access to UND's engineering programs, including chemical, civil, electrical, geological, mechanical, and petroleum engineering, through a recently signed memorandum of understanding.

DSU students meeting required criteria can enroll in UND's programs, taking online courses for freshman and sophomore years while completing upper-level courses over 3 years. Lab work will be conducted at UND during summer semesters. DSU students who complete the program of study and meet all UND graduation requirements will be eligible for a UND bachelor’s degree in the specified engineering discipline and their DSU degree.

“This collaboration aligns with our mission to provide accessible, high-quality education and support regional workforce needs,” said Holly Gruhlke, DSU vice president.
