Student Chapter Benefits
More than 52,000 student members are involved in 427 student chapters linked to universities around the world and supported by local sections. Active student members work closely with their sponsoring SPE section, faculty advisors, and department heads to host industry-related events and network with peers and local industry professionals, leading to potential career-advancing connections and skills.
SPE student chapters exist in 127 countries across the globe. In February 2023, 10 new student chapters were formed in several countries. Students interested in joining an existing student chapter or forming one can visit SPE’s student chapter webpage to learn more. Additionally, students may receive a free student membership when you sign up for the SPE Student Dues program sponsored by Chevron. Learn more about the benefits of maintaining your SPE membership after graduating.
Future graduates can also participate in SPE’s Virtual Career Pathways Fair, hosted annually in April. This event allows participants to take part in quick-fire mentoring sessions via chat or one-to-one video calls to talk about the future of specific job roles as well as how you can prepare for them.
