The Virtual Career Pathways Fair enters its fifth year, and the event continues to be one of the greatest ways to learn about different roles across the oil and gas industry. Starting on 25 April, the virtual platform allows SPE members to connect with professionals throughout the industry, discuss career options, and give advice on how to prepare for various roles within the industry.

Over 100 professional engineers have already signed up to share their advice with members one-on-one. Developments from 2022 will be featured this year, including both text and video chat options to help you get the most from our advisers. This year, we are also excited to have Chevron supporting the conference and they will be continuing their long-standing support for student development.

“Chevron is a proud partner with SPE, and we work together to support students as they pursue their career endeavors. We are participating in the career fair to share the excitement of working in the energy business at Chevron as well as to support students as they look for internship and full-time opportunities,” Cynthia Murphy-Ortega, Chevron's University Partnerships and Association Relations Manager said.

In addition to one-on-one mentorship, the fair continues to provide resources to help you learn about different roles in the industry and explore necessary skills to be successful in those jobs. We also have CV reviewing and downloadable resources, which participants will be able to keep after the event.

We will have 10 webinars exploring different topics young members are facing in the industry, including digitization and new clean energy technologies in oil and gas. This year, there is a greater emphasis on the individual skills required for starting a career and there will be sessions on networking and getting your first job.

Organizers are still welcoming more professional volunteers and companies who want to support future leaders, so, if you want to get involved, make sure to contact us. For more information contact yp@spe.org
