Thirty-seven SPE student chapters across the world have won the 2017 Outstanding Student Chapter Award. The award recognizes chapters whose programs, activities, and levels of participation distinguish them from other chapters. Scoring assigns weightages of 30% each for industry engagement and operations planning, 15% each for community involvement and innovation, and 10% for professional development.
The award will be presented to winning chapters during the Student Awards Luncheon at the 2017 SPE ATCE to be held 9–11 October in San Antonio, Texas. In addition, 38 student chapters were awarded the Gold Standard Designations for accomplishing an admirable level of activity. A Gold Standard certificate will be emailed to the designated chapters.
According to the 2017 SPE Fact Sheet, SPE student membership includes more than 73,000 students and 368 student chapters. Each chapter is sponsored by an SPE section. To learn more about SPE student chapters and the awards, click here.
