  • I begin this column by saying that after attending several recent SPE events filled with students and professionals, all virtual of course, that I have seen the very best of us as members of SPE. To a person, you all have been nothing short of inspiring.

  • During the recently held 2020 SPE Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition (ATCE), winners of SPE regional student paper contests competed for the international prize in three categories: undergraduate, master's, and PhD. The contests were broadcast around the world to the judging panel. Winners were announced at the Student Award Ceremony held the next day.

  • Drillbotics, the international competition for universities to design and build a small drilling rig is accepting registrations for the 2021 Drillbotics Competition. The contest is annually run by the SPE’s Drilling Systems Automation Technical Section (DSATS).
