In February 2024, SPE fielded a survey to all professional and student members and recent former members. A record 9,706 assessments were completed—the highest participation across any of SPE’s previous membership surveys. Members from around the world and all age groups participated, representing a diverse set of feedback.

SPE Nigeria Council’s Women Leadership Lecture Series, held in March, celebrated women in the oil and gas industry with the theme “Inspire Inclusion: Promoting Women’s Participation in Governance and Leadership.”

The event, the first of its kind, hosted more than 500 students for discussions from industry professionals, SPE Distinguished Lecturers, and SPE CEO Simon Seaton.
