2023 SPE Annual Report Available

SPE releases its 2023 Annual Report highlighting the year's accomplishments and showing continued improvement in financial performance fueling the success of SPE members.

Our annual report for 2023 is now live, showcasing our journey through the past year and our vision for the future. Discover our milestones, including the hiring of a new CEO, Simon Seaton; strategic planning; and industry collaboration on a global scale.

The year 2023 was marked by a dynamic global landscape, where technological advancements, shifting market dynamics, and a growing emphasis on sustainability continued to influence our industry.

Leading the industry with more than 119,000 members in 138 countries, our membership is expanding our reach. SPE geographic and technical sections are evolving with the industry’s current and foreseeable needs.

We continue to develop Technical Sections to meet the growing needs of our members. The Hydrogen Technical Section and the Plug and Abandonment Technical Section were created to share knowledge and technology in these evolving critical sectors.

SPE is part of a technical consortium that has been awarded a $165-million grant from the US Department of Energy, "Geothermal Energy from Oil and Gas Demonstrated Engineering (GEODE)." This collaborative effort signifies a milestone in our ongoing dedication to advancing sustainable energy solutions.
