Haoming Ma
Research Scientist University of WyomingHaoming Ma, SPE, is a research scientist at the School of Energy Resources at the University of Wyoming. He holds a PhD degree in petroleum engineering from the University of Calgary and completed postdoctoral training at the University of Texas at Austin before joining the University of Wyoming. Ma’s research leverages artificial intelligence and multiscale emissions measurements to advance geoenergy system modeling and support technology, investment, and policy decision-making. His work has been applied across multiple areas, with more than 20 journal articles published in carbon capture, use, and storage; enhanced geothermal systems; geologic hydrogen production and storage; and methane emissions across oil and gas supply chains. Ma is also actively involved in SPE activities, including serving as an officer on the Methane Technical Section and the Hydrogen Technical Section and as a member of the SPE Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition Technical Program Committee.
