I. Wayan Eka Putra, SPE, is an engineering manager at Petronas and a technical authority in subsea and pipeline systems with over 25 years of experience across global upstream oil and gas developments. He began his career in the design and engineering of onshore and offshore pipeline systems, building a strong foundation in pipeline mechanics, advance materials, and installation. Putra’s work has evolved to address increasingly complex offshore challenges, spanning pipeline integrity, geohazard interaction, and the integration of carbon-transport systems within modern energy developments. He contributes to the technical community through publications, industry committees, and mentorship and serves on the JPT Editorial Review Board.
