Jyotsna Sharma
Jyotsna Sharma, SPE, is an associate professor of petroleum engineering and adjunct professor of electrical engineering at Louisiana State University (LSU). She also serves as a program director at the US Department of Energy’s Advanced Research Projects Agency-Energy (ARPA-E), where she leads programs focused on high-impact energy technologies. Before joining LSU, Sharma worked at Chevron as a subject matter expert, leading production optimization and reservoir surveillance projects in the US, Indonesia, Venezuela, Canada, and Kuwait. She began her career as a field engineer with Schlumberger in Canada. Her research interests include fiber-optic sensing, enhanced oil recovery, machine learning, and quantum-enabled energy technologies. Sharma holds a professional engineering license and has authored more than 75 refereed publications and five pending patents . She holds a PhD in petroleum engineering from University of Calgary and BS degree in electrical engineering from Indian Institute of Technology, Delhi, India.
