Lester (Xiaohua) Yi

Lester (Xiaohua) Yi, SPE, is a lead instrumentation, control, and electrical engineer at ExxonMobil, specializing in flow measurement, multiphase metering, and digital transformation in upstream operations. He has led multidisciplinary initiatives across unconventional assets and floating production, storage, and offloading vessel developments, improving measurement performance, production optimization, and operational efficiency. Yi’s work focuses on integrating advanced instrumentation with AI-driven diagnostics, predictive maintenance, and data-centric workflows. He holds a PhD degree in civil engineering and an MS degree in electrical engineering from Georgia Institute of Technology and is an inventor with multiple patents. Yi serves as the Vice Chairperson of the SPE Flow Measurement Technical Section.
