Zhambyl Sarbas

Zhambyl Sarbas is the reservoir simulation engineer in the Reservoir Management Group, Tengizchevroil (TCO), Kazakhstan. In this role, he provided reservoir engineering input to business planning, reserves booking, and governmental regulatory processes, and currently he is supporting history matching and dynamic model rebuilds for TCO assets.

Prior to this role, at his academic endeavors, he was the president of the SPE Kazakh British Technical University Student Chapter, and captain of PetroBowl team. He is an active SPE member since 2016 and joined Atyrau SPE Board in 2022. Since then, he held positions with increased responsibility as student chapter liaison, officer, program chairperson, and the chairman. He is also a technical program committee member of regional SPE conferences and workshops. He currently serves as the Youth Wing Chair for the Integrated Reservoir Management Technical Section.

He holds BSc in geology and geophysics and MSc in petroleum engineering.
