Bechtel, an engineering, procurement, and construction company, named Brendan Bechtel as chairman of Bechtel Group. Bechtel now holds the dual titles and responsibilities of chairman and CEO after being named to the latter position in September 2016. He had previously served as the company's oil, gas, and chemicals (OG&C) global business unit and as general manager of the OG&C LNG business line. He also served as senior project manager for the Queensland Curtis LNG project, the first of Bechtel's 4 LNG megaprojects in Australia.
Bechtel is the 5th generation of the Bechtel family to lead the company. He holds a bachelor's degree in geography from Middlebury College and master's degrees in business and construction engineering and management from Stanford University.
