Tamarind Resources will not extend a contract with BW Offshore for the Umuroa FPSO, which is currently operating on the Tui field offshore New Zealand. The contract will be terminated effective 31 December. BW Offshore will begin preparation for the demobilization of the vessel from the Tui field, where it has been operating since 2007. The news comes on the heels of Tamarind’s decision to stop its New Zealand offshore drilling operations after failing to reach an agreement with COSL, an offshore drilling contractor.
