GeoIntelX and the Society of Economic Geologists Partner To Transform 100 Years of Geological Knowledge Into AI-Driven Mineral Exploration Intelligence

The Society’s archive of technical papers, maps, figures, and geological data sets will be integrated into the GIX platform, enabling geoscientists to query AI agents about exploration opportunities within specific geographic regions while combining historical research with public data, proprietary information, and advanced analytics.

GeoIntelX has partnered with the Society of Economic Geologists to integrate more than 100 years of geological publications and data sets into its AI-powered geospatial intelligence platform, GIX, in an effort to streamline mineral and energy exploration workflows.

Under the agreement, the Society’s archive of technical papers, maps, figures, and geological data sets will be incorporated into the GIX platform, allowing users to query AI agents with exploration and geological questions tied to specific geographic areas. The platform combines the Society’s content with public data sets, user-provided proprietary data, and AI-driven analytics.

According to the companies, the system is designed to reduce the time geoscientists spend reviewing large volumes of technical literature by enabling natural-language searches across geological models, basins, and data sets. Users will receive responses that include supporting references and explanations.

The partnership follows a recent agreement between GeoIntelX and NewMed Energy focused on accelerating natural gas exploration and production using the GIX platform.

“Combined with our proprietary processing pipeline, geologically trained AI agents, and intuitive web interface, we are positioned as a premier tool for exploration teams, governments, and researchers to advance the sustainable discovery and extraction of vital resources,” said Gilad Hoshen, CEO and co-founder of GeoIntelX.

The companies said the integration will structure, enrich, geotag, and connect the Society’s geological content with GeoIntelX’s AI and geospatial technologies. They expect the resulting platform to help users uncover insights more quickly, accelerate technical evaluations, reduce exploration risk, and improve discovery efforts for critical minerals and energy resources.

The Society of Economic Geologists plans to offer members a dedicated experience within the GIX platform that includes AI-powered search, geospatial exploration tools, and advanced geological-query capabilities. Initial access will be provided through a credit-based system, with broader access planned in a subsequent phase.

“Through this partnership with GeoIntelX, we are taking a major step forward in leveraging advanced AI and GIS technologies to make our publications more accessible, searchable, and actionable for our members and the broader industry via the most natural medium for their work—a digital map interface,” said Jennifer Craig, executive director of the Society of Economic Geologists.

The partners said the platform is scheduled to launch officially during the Society’s 2026 Conference in Salt Lake City, Utah.
