Edward O. Price Jr., SPE Distinguished Member, died 12 March. He was 92. Price began his career at Chevron in 1953 as an engineer trainee and retired in 1990 as corporate senior vice president of exploration and production at Saudi Aramco.
A member of SPE since 1967, he held many officer positions at the SPE Dallas and Saudi Arabia sections such as treasurer, program chairperson, and member of the board of directors. For his contributions to SPE he was awarded the SPE Regional Service Award, SPE Distinguished Service Award, and was honored with the SPE Distinguished Membership in 1991.
Price held two bachelor’s degrees and a master’s degree from Texas A&M University (TAMU). During his retirement years, he served as a member of TAMU International Advisory Board for Bush International School. He was named as a member of Texas A&M Petroleum Engineering Academy of Distinguished Graduates.
