Today, the International Association of Oil & Gas Producers (IOGP) JIP33 issued “S-722 Flare Package” for public review. The consultation period runs for 4 weeks and will close on 6 March.

This specification aims to define a minimum common set of supplementary requirements for the procurement of flare packages in accordance with API Standard 537 (Third Edition, March 2017) for application in the petroleum and natural gas industries.

The files are available to download at http://www.iogp-jip33.org/library/s-722.

IOGP initiated JIP33 in 2016 with support from the World Economic Forum capital project complexity initiative in response to an industrywide overrun on cost and schedule of more than 40%.

Managed by the IOGP, 14 specifications have been developed to date. These are now being adopted and implemented by the operators on major projects where benefits are already being demonstrated.
