Joe Albi, SPE, executive vice president and COO at Cimarex Energy, will retire from the company as an officer and director effective 1 July. Albi has been with the company since its formation in 2002, having joined Key Production Company at its outset in 1994. Key was transformed into Cimarex through a merger with Helmerich & Payne's exploration and production business in 2002. He held positions of increasing responsibility over the years at Cimarex and was named executive vice president and COO and elected to the board of directors in 2011. He is a graduate of the Colorado School of Mines with a BS in petroleum engineering and MS in mineral economics.
