The Journal of Petroleum Technology (JPT) released a special publication detailing the current state of geothermal energy generation at the SPE Annual Technical Conference and Exhibition (ATCE) on 21 October in Houston.

The magazine covers the full spectrum of current geothermal efforts, including drilling; completions; reservoir engineering; health, safety, and environment; data science and data engineering; and production and facilities.

The publication also includes interviews with experts in the field and a primer on the new Geothermal Resources Management System (GRMS). The newly approved GRMS is modeled after the Petroleum Resources Management System and is a collaboration between SPE and the geothermal nonprofit Project InnerSpace.

The supplement is free to download here.
