Karl-Petter Løken has been named president and CEO of Kvaerner, the Norwegian oilfield engineering and construction firm. Løken has held several key positions for companies like Statoil, Aker Solutions, and Lundin Norway. He currently serves as head of project development for Lundin; from 2011 to 2015, he was engineering manager for Lundin’s Edvard Grieg field development, where Kvaerner was the key contractor.
Løken has a master’s degree in chemical engineering from the Norwegian Institute of Technology. While beginning his career in oil and gas, Løken was a top soccer player in Norway, earning seven Norwegian Eliteserien titles and four Norwegian Footbal Cup championships in a 13-year career.
