BP promoted Lamar McKay to deputy group chief executive. McKay’s responsibilities will include strategy and long-term planning, safety and operational risk management, technology, and corporate governance. He had previously served as the company’s upstream chief executive since 2013 and has been on its executive team since 2008, a year before his appointment as chairman and president of BP America. McKay started his career in 1980 with Amoco and held a range of technical and leadership positions before joining BP.
