BP appointed Nils Andersen as a nonexecutive director of its board of directors. Andersen previously served as group chief executive of A.P. Møller-Mærsk from 2007 to 2016. From 1999 to 2007, he worked for Carlsberg and Carlsberg Breweries, first as executive vice president and then as president and chief executive officer. He is a nonexecutive director at Unilever, where he serves on the audit committee. Andersen is also chairman of Dansk Supermarked Group.
Andersen holds a graduate degree from the University of Aarhus.
