The Powerbuoy from Ocean Power Technologies (OPT) has a scalable onboard battery system that can act as an offshore uninterruptible power supply (UPS) providing continuous power output. It can be used as a stand-alone charging station and communications platform that can enable the long-term remote operation of autonomous underwater vehicles (AUVs) used in marine environmental monitoring and offshore asset inspection.
