SPE Joins the Fight Against Ebola

SPE donated USD 10,000 to the US National Foundation for the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (known as the CDC Foundation) to aid the organization in its fight against the Ebola virus in Liberia.

This contribution is consistent with SPE’s policy of making charitable donations in response to natural disasters (such as the 2009 typhoon affecting the Philippines and the 2011 tsunami that struck Japan). SPE has a student chapter in Liberia, which is under the sponsorship of the Ghana Section.

Established by the US Congress as an independent, nonprofit organization, the CDC Foundation connects the US CDC with private-sector organizations and individuals to build public health programs throughout the world.
