Oil and Natural Gas Corporation Ltd. awarded the Transocean Dhirubhai Deepwater KG1 a binding Notification of Award for work offshore India. The 21-month program is expected to begin in the first quarter of 2024 and will contribute an estimated $222 million in backlog, excluding a mobilization fee of $5 million. That equates to a day rate of roughly $351,000.

The drillship is currently working in India for Reliance under a short-term contract earning $330,000 per day. That commitment is due to expire in November.
