Veolia's CoStrip is a system that provides pretreatment to reverse osmosis membrane systems. It removes benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, carbon dioxide, hydrogen sulfide, and various other dissolved gases depending upon the application. It extends the life of reverse osmosis membranes due to the removal of volatile organics and eliminates the need for upstream treatment prior to degasification. The system degases raw water by introducing microbubbles of a stripping gas counter-current to the liquid stream.
