Taras Makogon

Taras Makogon is an affiliate faculty at the Colorado School of Mines (CSM), a part-time lecturer at the KFUPM, and a specialist in flow assurance and production chemistry at Saudi Aramco. He has been working in technology for most of his career, starting as a junior faculty researcher at the Gubkin Institute of Oil and Gas, then joining CSM chemical engineering as a research assistant for his doctorate study. Having started industrial work at Mobil Technology in Dallas and ExxonMobil Upstream Research Center in Houston, he later joined BP Upstream Technical Group in the US and TNK-BP Technology JV with an opportunity to work in Russia. Makogon has served as the chairman of the SPE Flow Assurance Technical Section, as the regional SPE FTS chairperson for the Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, UAE, and UK regions, and holds weekly invent seminars with his team. He holds a Dipl.Ing from the Gubkin Institute of Oil and Gas in mining physics, MSc and PhD degrees in chemical engineering from the CSM, and an MBA in finance from the HBU.
