Zahraa Alkalby

Zahraa Alkalby is a senior reservoir engineer by background and currently serves as a product owner at TotalEnergies, where she leads the worldwide deployment of WISH—an in-house tool designed to optimize well-placement strategies. With more than a decade of experience, she has worked across a diverse portfolio of projects in the MENA region, Africa, and Papua New Guinea, contributing to various phases including appraisal, development, and pre-FID. Her expertise spans dynamic modeling, uncertainty analysis, and integrated reservoir management.

She holds dual MSc degrees in petroleum engineering from Imperial College London and in reservoir evaluation and management from Heriot-Watt University. A dedicated SPE volunteer for more than 10 years, she is the current president of the SPE France Section (2023–2025). She was the inaugural chair of the SPE Diversity & Inclusion Committee and led the GAIA Just Transition initiative. Throughout her relocations, she has remained an active member and volunteer across several SPE sections globally. Her commitment to knowledge sharing, mentorship, and inclusion has earned her multiple regional awards and international recognition for her contributions to the energy industry.
