Cameron LNG Sees First Production from Train 3 In Louisiana

Production from Train 3 comes almost a month after reaching its final commissioning stage. Commercial operations will follow testing and authorization from FERC.


Cameron LNG confirmed that Train 3 of its Hackberry, Louisiana, LNG plant has produced its first LNG, nearly 1 month after reaching its final commissioning stage. The total project includes three liquefaction trains with a projected export of 12 mtpa of LNG.

The company said production from Train 3 is a major step towards completion of Phase 1 of the project. Commercial operations will follow completion of performance testing and receipt of the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission (FERC) authorization to commerce service.

McDermott International and joint venture partner Chiyoda provided the engineering, procurement, and construction services for the project since its initial award in 2014.

Cameron LNG is jointly owned by affiliates of Sempra LNG, Total, Mitsui & Co, and Japan LNG Investment.
