Ipieca, the American Petroleum Institute, and the International Association of Oil and Gas Producers recently launched the fifth edition of their SustainabilityReporting Guidance for the Oil and Gas Industry.
The updated guidance includes a new section on enabling a just transitionand features reporting elements related to strategy and processes, including just transition indicators. It also incorporates considerations of a just transition into several of the social and human rights indicators.
Ipieca said that, as interest grows in companies reporting on the strategic approaches and processes they are using to support a just transition, this update offers vital tools and guidance to demonstrate leadership and responsibility in this area.
“The fifth edition of our sustainability reporting guidance includes new just transition indicators, supporting companies to report on how they are integrating just transition considerations into operations, management systems, and partnerships,” said Isabel Miranda, Ipieca sustainability and social performance director. “This update is evidence of our member companies’ commitment to reporting and transparency about how they manage climate-related and broader sustainability-related opportunities, impacts and risks.”
