OTC 2024 Announces Emerging Leaders Class

The Emerging Leaders Program recognizes young professionals with fewer than 10 years of experience in the offshore energy sector. This year’s class will be honored during a special ceremony during the conference on 7 May.

The following honorees will be recognized in a special ceremony during the conference on Tuesday, 7 May 2024, NRG Center, Houston.

The Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) unveiled the 2024 class of Emerging Leaders. This prestigious program is designed to recognize young professionals with less than 10 years of experience in the energy industry. The selected individuals for this year's class have demonstrated their exceptional talents, commitment, and promise as future leaders in the offshore energy sector.

Each Emerging Leader candidate is a member of an OTC sponsoring, endorsing, or supporting organization. The previous year’s Emerging Leaders class then selects the final candidates for the upcoming class.

“This award celebrates not only excellence but also the promise of a bright future within our industry. It's a moment to recognize the remarkable achievements and potential of the young professionals who have demonstrated exceptional dedication, talent, and innovation,” Alex Martinez, chair of the OTC Board, said.

The following honorees will be recognized in a special ceremony during the conference on Tuesday, 7 May 2024, NRG Center, Houston, Texas.

  • Mejdi Kammoun, PhD, principal engineer, American Bureau of Shipping, ASME
  • Jian (Jason) Shi, PhD, assistant professor, University of Houston, IEEE-OES
  • Pankaj Goel, PhD, projects advisor, ExxonMobil, ISA
