SPE is inviting comments on a draft technical report titled Getting to Zero and Beyond: The Path Forward.

The SPE Board of Directors has revised its structure, accepting recommendations from a task force that studied its geographical and technical makeup. Board membership will be reduced from 27 to 19 under this revision. Changes to the board structure will be phased in over the next 3 years as the terms of current board members end.

In March 2016, the SPE Board approved moving forward with work on a draft CO2 Storage Resources Management System (SRMS) by a subcommittee of the Carbon Dioxide Capture, Utilization and Storage Technical Section (CCUS). The subcommittee has completed the document which establishes technically-based capacity and resources evaluation standards.

The Pure Pack System from Pentair is a portable system for secondary and tertiary produced water and wastewater treatment. With oil content as high as 5 to 10% at the inlet, the system can yield low-ppm oil at the outlet, and the recovered oil may be processed or sold to deliver value for the end user. No on-site sludge generation or management is required.
