Ronnie Carroll was appointed senior manager of land administration at the public accounting firm Whitley Penn. He will be part of the company’s oil and gas group. Carroll has extensive oil and gas industry experience and was most recently director of land administration at an asset management firm. He holds a BBA from Sam Houston State University in accounting.

William D. (Bill) McCain, Jr., a 50-year veteran of the oil and gas industry and academia, and 2019 SPE Reservoir Description and Dynamics Award winner, died 20 September. He was 86.

Subsea 7 has received a contract from Total for the Lapa North East field in the presalt Santos Basin.
