The first delivery of shale gas in the UAE marks a major milestone toward its goal of reaching 1 Bcf/D by 2030. It also signals the expansion of hydraulic fracturing in the UAE’s conventional fields.

Phase 1 covers the modeling and monitoring of assets for six ADNOC Group companies. The four phases of the project are expected to be completed by 2022.

Two contracts awarded for flowlines and wellheads at ADNOC’s Abu Dhabi oil fields are expected to be completed in 5 years. A third contract to develop a bypass system for its Jebel Dhanna and Fujairah terminals is expected to be completed in 30 months.

The $20.7-billion agreement is the single-largest energy infrastructure investment in the region.

Alan Nelson is not only the new chief technology officer at ADNOC, he is the company’s first person to hold the title at the integrated oil company.

Penspen will also carry out engineering services on the Zirku Island plant.

Proposal requests were sent to companies to solicit partnerships for the project with ADNOC and ADPower.
