John M. Campbell Sr., an internationally renowned expert in the petroleum industry who served as chairman of the University of Oklahoma’s School of Petroleum Engineering, died 24 August 2013, at his home in Norman, Oklahoma, after a brief illness. He was 91. -

H. Arthur Nedom, SPE, died 11 March 2013 in Tulsa, Oklahoma, USA. He was born 19 August 1925. Nedom served in the US Army Infantry in Belgium and Germany during World War II, and was awarded the Bronze Star for heroic conduct in battle. Murray Free Hawkins Jr., SPE, died 7 March 2013. He was 95. Hawkins is survived by his wife of 70 years—Julia Welles Hawkins—and his four children. He received a BS degree in chemistry and an MS degree in physics, both from Louisiana State University (LSU).
